10 Simple Things That Make Me Happy

1. Walking into a bookstore and seeing something I have never come across.

2. Rushing to tell my wife about the day's events the moment I reach home. Actually, spending time with her. We could be cooking in the kitchen, or chatting or taking a walk together.

3. Cool car chase scenes. Very cliched...but that's me.

4. Writing...letter/ email/ blog/ sms/ anything.

5. Good tea. Little milk, very little sugar, and lots of tea.

6. Watching the night sky.

7. Making a huge fuss over someone spitting on the road.

8. Early morning conversations that can go on forever. Otherwise throughout the day, one's mind is so preoccupied with so many things.

9. Not having to worry about how I will reach home.

10. Keeping my word, and others keeping their word to me. It could be over something as simple as 'I will call'.

Glass Pattern

Pic taken at Coffee.com (Pondy). Just experimenting with glass patterns at the place. I have used soft focus feature of Picasa to bring out the final picture.

The top

Pic taken at Coffee.com (Pondy). It shows the light pattern on the ceiling.

Clouds at the Kukal Cave hills - Kodai

One of the luxuries of having a camera at your disposal is that you cant miss any opportunity to take a good photograph. We were ready to come down from the Kukal Cave hills, where we got an opportunity to see this wonderful formation. I just saw the sky for a moment and took this picture. You cannot imagine the speed at which, the clouds were floating by. Also, I loved the contrast in the pic. Taken on our trip to Kodai in the summer of 2009.

Vivid Colors of the Sky

Somehow, i have always been fascinated with the changing colors of the sky at different times in a day. Early mornings and late evenings are of course the best times to capture the sky full of vivid colors. Here are 3 pics, that we captured on our Kodaikanal Trip on my cell, all at the same place. (Kodaikanal - suicide point). Ha Ha - what an awesome scene to see while dying. It wud probably be the best way to end up one's life. Die exotic.

Colors & Light

Back to Diwali Day. Floating lights (diyas - again Chinese makes)  in a crystal bowl. First two pics from the top and the last two from the bottom of it. Amazing mix of colors and lights. China is attractive - you bet !!

Deepavali Lights - the influence of China

Diwali Pics : Continued
Traditional Lamps giving way to the modern Chinese ones. This particular lamp would be a tough one to make using clay. Works on electricity with small bulbs instead of cotton to light up lamps :) ....sign of changing times.......... Seen at one of our colleagues place in Pondy on the October of 2009.

Diwali - Colors of Light

Diwali : The biggest festival in most of the Indian States is celebrated around the month of Oct- Nov by lighting up the lamps (diya/deepak), candles and bursting the crackers. You have the same feel here @ Pondy too especially when all the North Indians come out on the streets to burn the diya's and the crackers. All pics here are taken in burst mode but at low shutter speed and high zoom (around 4-6x). All crackers here are the one which burst in sky, hence u can see a little shake in the pics also.
